City Resident Hosts ‘Business Mixer’ For Business Owners

WESTFIELD-City resident and real estate agent Lesley Lambert has invited Amber Danahey, the city’s new community outreach coordinator, to share her insights of the business community during a Westfield Business Mixer event on Aug. 30.

Lambert had conducted a similar event more than a year ago on her own for the business community and realized the importance of the networking referral potential for business owners.

“The first event I hosted included a workshop on using Facebook to share and like each other’s promotions,” said Lambert during an interview in her office at Park Square Realty on Elm

Street. “The event was well received so I was encouraged to try the concept again.”

At Tuesday’s event from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Short Stop Bar and Grill at 99 Springfield Road, Lambert will welcome the attendees and introduce Danahey who will share some insight into her first 90 days on the job.

“I will explain what I’ve seen coming into this job, as well as my focus going forward and how we can all work together to help each other,” said Danahey.

Lambert noted that after Danahey’s presentation she will encourage attendees to network and explain to others what types of referrals they need.

“Come prepared to network with your business cards and referral wishes,” said Lambert, who has been an agent at Park Square Realty for 10 years and in the real estate business for 28 years.

Lambert encourages everyone to have a “short sound bite” about their business and then explain what types of referrals would help their business grow.

“Take the initiative to meet someone you haven’t met before and don’t feel uncomfortable about asking for a referral,” said Lambert, adding “it can be challenging to ask for a referral but we will all be there to learn how we can support each other’s businesses.”

Lambert is requesting that those business owners planning to attend the free event either call her at (413) 575-3611 or send an email to [email protected].

“We already have more than 30 business owners planning on attending and I want to ensure we have enough refreshments and seating available for everyone,” said Lambert.

Lambert said if Tuesday night’s event is a success she would welcome hosting a similar event in the future.

“My goal is to bring businesses together in a community setting so we can all proactively share ideas on how we can support each other’s businesses,” said Lambert.
