WESTFIELD – Mayor Brian Sullivan’s office announced today the following construction update to some of the city’s most traveled roadways.
Work on Southwick Road will begin on Monday, May 15th. Milling will begin at the bridge heading south toward Southwick. Milling is expected to take 2 to 3 days. Paving will begin immediately after, and will be done heading north into Westfield. Paving is expected to take approximately 2 days finishing up by Friday, May 19 (weather permitting).
Franklin Street work will begin as soon as Southwick Road is completed. Milling is slated to begin Thursday, May 18. There are many structures on Franklin Street that need to be adjusted before paving can begin. It is hopeful that these will be addressed and that paving can begin at the end of the week, May 25th or 26th.
