Victor Bermudez, 25, of 69 Court St., was held in lieu of $2,500 cash bail pending an Oct. 29 hearing after he was arraigned on a charge of possession of a Class A drug with intent to distribute brought by Westfield police.
Anthony J. Champney, 18, of 180 Main St. Medway, was released on his personal recognizance pending a Dec. 5 hearing after he was arraigned on a charge of being a person younger than the legal drinking age in possession of liquor brought by Westfield State University police.
Shannon D. Kiniel, 39, of 58 Congress Ave., Holyoke, was released on her personal recognizance pending a Dec. 4 hearing after she was arraigned on charges of operating a motor vehicle with suspended registration, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license brought by State Police.
Philip McCarthy, 32, of 89 West Ave., Luclow, who was arrested as a fugitive from justice by State Police Aug. 26 in Russell, was surrendered to authorities who will transport him to Oregon to answer charges there.
Harley J. Harris, 19, of 18 Northwest Road, was released on his personal recognizance pending a Dec. 12 hearing after he was arraigned on charges of negligent operation of a motor vehicle, speeding and a marked lanes violation brought by Southwick police.
Donald E. Lafield, 51, of 14 Carrington Road, Montgomery, saw charges of assault and battery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon brought by State Police dismissed at the request of the victim when he asserted his Fifth Amendment rights and refused to testify.
Vitaliy Y. Bardakov, 35, of 16 Conner Ave., was released on his personal recognizance pending a Dec. 5 hearing after he was arraigned on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, a subsequent offense, brought by State Police.
Paula M. Santos, of 14 Carrington Road, Montgomery, saw a charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon brought by State Police dismissed when the alleged victim asserted his Fifth Amendment rights and refused to testify. A charge of cruelty to an animal was not prosecuted. In a separate case also brought by State Police, Santos submitted to facts sufficient to warrant guilty findings for charges of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and assault and battery on a police officer and the charges were continued without a finding with probation for six months. She was assessed $50 and a charge of intimidating a witness was not prosecuted.
