Hamzah A. Abbas, 23, of 50 Stockman St., Springfield, saw a charge of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle brought by State Police dismissed upon payment within a month of $100 in court costs. He was found to be not responsible for a motor vehicle lights violation. In a second case also brought by State Police, Abbas again saw a charge of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle dismissed upon payment within a month of $100 in court costs. He was found to be not responsible for a Massachusetts Turnpike equipment violation.

Paul H. Thibault V, 31, of 92 Tannery Road, Westfield, submitted to facts sufficient to warrant a guilty finding for a charge of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor brought by Southwick police and the charge was continued without a finding with probation for one year. He was assessed $600 and his license was suspended for 45 days. A charge of negligent operation of a motor vehicle was not prosecuted and he was found to be not responsible for a marked lanes violation.

Shakeem K. Scott, 35, of 65 Colonial Ave., Springfield, pleaded guilty to charges of receiving a stolen credit card, improper receiving of money, goods or services valued less than $1,200 with a credit card and larceny of property valued less than $1,200 by a single scheme brought by Westfield police and was sentenced to three concurrent 90 day terms in the house of correction with an incarceration date starting as of Oct. 11. Eleven additional charges of receiving a stolen credit card and eleven additional charges of improper receiving of money, goods or services valued less than $1,200 with a credit card were not prosecuted.

Donald R. Johnson, 66, of 465 Babbs Road, West Suffield, Conn., was released on his personal recognizance pending an Jan. 17 hearing after he was arraigned on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and speeding in violation of special regulations brought by Southwick police.
