David M. Bettro, 34, of 868 Southampton Road, Apt. 72, Westfield, was held pending a Sept. 26 dangerousness hearing after he was arraigned on two charges of armed and masked robbery, two charges of reckless endangerment of a child and a charge of resisting arrest bought by Westfield police. Malachi A. Christian, 23, of 103 Ashley Ave., Apt. B, West Springfield, was released on his personal recognizance pending a Nov. 29 hearing after he was arraigned on charges of operating a motor vehicle without a valid inspection sticker and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license brought by Westfield police.

Jeffrey D. Krawczyk, 29, of 36 Stuart Place, Westfield, pleaded guilty to a charge of inhaling glue or a toxic substance brought by Westfield police and was sentenced to a six month term in the house of correction, with credit for time served awaiting trail. He also pleaded guilty to a charge of trespass and was sentenced to a 30 day concurrent term in the house of correction. In a second case also brought by Westfield police, Krawczyk again pleaded guilty to a charge of inhaling glue or a toxic substance and was sentenced to a six month term in the house of correction, with credit for time served awaiting trial, to be served concurrently with sentence imposed in the first case. In a third case also brought by Westfield police, Krawczyk pleaded guilty to charges of inhaling glue or a toxic substance and shoplifting by concealing merchandise and was sentenced to a three month term in the house of correction, with credit for time served awaiting trial, to be served on and after the sentence imposed in the first case. In a fourth case also brought by Westfield police, Krawczyk pleaded guilty to charges of trespass and shoplifting by concealing merchandise and was again sentenced to a three month term in the house of correction, with credit for time served awaiting trial, to be served on and after the sentence imposed in the first case but concurrently with the sentence imposed in the third case.

Megan M. Phelon, 30, of no fixed address in Westfield, was released on payment of $200 cash bail pending an Oct. 23 hearing after she was arraigned on a charge of larceny of property valued more than $250 by a single scheme brought by Westfield police.
