Ronald L. Briere, 50, of 32 Woodlawn St., Springfield, pleaded guilty to charges of assault and battery on a family or household member and assault and battery with serious bodily injury brought by Southwick police and was sentenced to two concurrent 18-month terms in the house of correction with 18 months to be served direct with credit for time served awaiting trial and the balance suspended with probation until July 20, 2018. In a second case, Briere pleaded guilty to charges of larceny of property valued less than $250, identity fraud, and unauthorized access to a computer system and was sentenced to thee one year terms to be served concurrently with sentences imposed in the other cases. Additional charges of larceny of property valued less than $250, identity fraud, and unauthorized access to a computer system were not prosecuted.
Anthony M. Rhodes, 37, of 32 Ed Holcomb Rd., Southwick, was released on his personal recognizance pending a May 17 hearing after he was arraigned on a charge of assault and battery on a family or household member brought by Southwick police.
Scott F. Hutchinson, 39, of 128 Point Grove Road, Southwick, pleaded guilty to charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor and negligent operation of a motor vehicle brought by Southwick police and was sentenced to a six month term in the house of correction, suspended, with probation for two years. He was fined $750, assessed a total of $850 and a marked lanes violation was not prosecuted.
