David A. Messenger, 54, of 38 Berkshire Ave., Southwick pleaded guilty to a charge of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor and was sentenced to an 18 month term in the house of correction (with credit for time served awaiting trial) with nine months to be served direct and the balance suspended with probation until Nov. 29, 2019. He also pleaded guilty to a charge of negligent operation of a motor vehicle and was sentenced to a three month term in the house of correction with credit for time served to be served concurrently with the first sentence.
Elias D. Kobylanski, 23, of 217 Route 20, Chester, pleaded guilty to charges of trespass and disorderly conduct and was fined $250. A charge of accosting or annoying another person was not prosecuted.
Cordelia J. Papa, 63, of 16 Depot St., Apt. 39, Southwick, saw charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and assault and battery on a family or household member dismissed when the alleged victim cited his Fifth Amendment rights and refused to testify.
Michael A. Williams, 64, of 16 Depot St., Apt. 34, Southwick, saw a charge of assault and battery on a family or household member dismissed when the alleged victim cited her Fifth Amendment rights and refused to testify.
Abraham Rivera III, 21, of 88 Russellville Road, Westfield, submitted to facts sufficient to warrant a guilty finding for a charge of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of liquor brought by Westfield police and the charge was continued without a finding with probation for one year. He was assessed $600 and his license was suspended for 45 days. Charges of negligent operation of a motor vehicle and speeding at a rate exceeding posted limits were not prosecuted.
