Jamiah Jackson, 22, of 193 Nay Ave., Highlands, N.J., was released on her personal recognizance pending a Dec. 2 hearing after she was arraigned on a charge of assault and battery brought by Westfield State University police.
Charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and operating a motor vehicle without a valid inspection sticker bought by State Police against Henry J. Dekastrozza Jr., 39, of 91 Pine St., 1st. Flr, Westfield, were not prosecuted. In a second case brought by Westfield police, Dekastrozza, with an address of 140 Union St., Apt. 49, Westfield, pleaded guilty to charges of larceny from a person and assault with a dangerous weapon. He was sentenced to two concurrent 18 month terms in the house of correction with credit for time served and Judge William Rota recommended that the sentence be served at the Mill Street facility.
