WESTFIELD – This Thursday, Dec. 7, the Special Education Parents Advisory Committee (SEPAC) is holding a “Cozy Cocoa Night” from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Westfield Technical Academy cafeteria.
The evening will be a casual, family oriented event that will include activities for children, and an opportunity for families to get together and talk. There will be no formal presentation, although an adjustment counselor will be on hand along with other resources for families.
According to parent volunteer Melissa Rutkowski, the sibling workshop which was originally scheduled for December has been postponed to the spring, but siblings are welcome, too. “Sometimes it’s just nice to meet other families. It helps siblings to meet their peers, too,” Rutkowski said.
There will be crafts available for children and cocoa and cookies for all. “The holidays are hard for people. This event is no pressure; just come and chill,” Rutkowski said. The event is open for all families and children of all abilities.
