SOUTHWICK – A two vehicle crash yesterday afternoon sent two people to local hospitals.
Southwick Fire Chief Richard Anderson said the drivers of the vehicles – Samantha Wysocki, 20, of Portland, Conn. and Margaret Fenton, 32, of Granby, Conn. – had non life-threatening injuries. One was transported to Noble Hospital while the other was taken to Baystate Medical Center. Both were transported by Southwick Ambulances.
“As we looked more at the crash, we realized it could have been much worse,” Anderson said. “They were lucky.”

The accident took place after 2 p.m. on College Highway near Meadow View Farms.
“It appeared that one vehicle was coming out of a driveway and they hit nearly head-on,” said Anderson.
A female driver of one vehicle was extricated.
“We had to use the Jaws of Life,” said Anderson.
Southwick Fire Department responded with an engine, rescue vehicle and two ambulances.
A second accident just before midnight last night sent another person to the hospital for multiple injuries and shut down a portion of College Highway which was re-opened by the morning commute time. The one-vehicle accident caused College Highway to close between Klaus Anderson and Congamond roads.
