Andy Daniels drove in three runs with a pair of singles and Jack Blake capped off the scoring with a home run over the right field fence at Jachym Field to lead Westfield Post 124 to a 7-0 win over Monson on Friday.
Daniels broke a scoreless tie in the bottom of the third with a two-strike line drive up the middle, scoring Matt Masciadrelli (single) and Aidan Dunn (walk). Daniels later scored on a passed ball.
In the fourth, Daniels again drove in Masciadrelli with a hard single, this time to right. Steve McKenna drove in Daniels with a single to center.
Westfield’s four pitchers gave up only four singles all night. Starter Devin Baker got two quick outs in the first before giving up a pair of singles. He got out of the inning with a ground ball out. His only other base runners came in the third, but he ended the mini-(only)-threat for Monson with his third of four strikeouts.
Nick Garde closed out the game for Post 124, retiring six of the seven batters he faced.
Blake’s home run came as he lead off the fifth and easily cleared the right field fence to make it 7-0 and send Westfield to its fourth straight win.
Post 124 wraps up its regular season at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Longmeadow High School. The American Legion senior division playoffs are scheduled to start on Monday.
