David Lloyd Comstock

WESTFIELD – We are saddened to announce the passing of our incredible uncle, David Lloyd Comstock (1937-2024). A lifelong resident of Westfield, born to the late Archie and Ann (Broderick) Comstock on May 17th, 1937. He passed peacefully thanks to the caring hands of Baystate Health Hospice on October 3rd, 2024 at Vantage of Westfield. He lived his life with no regrets, on his own terms, with humor, kindness and passion.

After graduating from Westfield High, he served four years in the Air Force and dedicated 50 years to Columbia Manufacturing. He was a lifetime member of the Sons of Erin; as well as a member of St. Mary’s Men’s Club, Eagles Club, Slovak Hall and the Moose Club. He was competitive by nature and both serious and passionate about golf, his pitch league, Boston sports teams, scratch tickets, keno and any entertainment where singing was involved. He had HIS stool at the club, he never missed weekly breakfast “meetings” with his men’s group, loved his daily newspaper in print to the end, and fondly remembered and shared stories of his trip of a lifetime to Ireland! He never married but was always a “ladies man”; he valued his family and lifelong Westfield friends.

He was predeceased by his parents, brother Roger and sister-in-law Janet (Wrobleski), and nephew Gary.

He leaves his niece Christine and grand niece and nephews, Taylor, Kaeden, Jade and Masen Beliveau. He will be missed by all of those that were lucky to cross his path.

His funeral will be held on Thursday, October 17th, 2024 with a Celebration of Life at 1 p.m. Visiting hours will precede the celebration from 12-1 p.m. in the Firtion Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield, MA 01085. Military Honors will follow in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam.
