BECKET – Dennis Kurt Meskevich, 64, of Becket, Massachusetts, died Wednesday, July 06, 2022 at home after a brief illness. He was born July 17, 1957 in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, son of George and Frances (Bevilacqua) Meskevich and grew up in the Huntington area.
A communicant of St. Thomas church for many years, now Holy Family in Russell, he enjoyed attending Mass at St. Mary’s Church in Lee, MA. Dennis’ faith was an essential part of his life, the center of his being in how he lived, cared and loved. He attended schools in the Gateway Regional School District, Holyoke Community College and the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. He retired in January, 2018 after 30 years working for the United States Postal Service in Springfield and the Gt. Barrington areas.
Dennis leaves his son, Daniel Meskevich of Huntington; his daughter, Lee Meskevich of Becket; his brother, Michael Meskevich of Russell; his niece, nephews and many cousins and friends.
In accordance with his wishes there will be a private service. Those who wish to do so may make a donation in his memory to Hillcrest Campus in care of Kelly Funeral Home, 3 Main St., Lee, MA 01238. His favorite quote, “Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about.” A quote he tried to live by and would preach to anyone that would listen. So, in lieu of flowers and the like, the family requests in his memory: Be kind today, whether it be a family member, an acquaintance or that stranger you’ve yet to meet.
