Driver killed in Union Street rollover accident


WESTFIELD (WWLP) – One person was killed following a rollover crash on Union Street in Westfield early Tuesday morning.
Westfield Police said that the accident happened around 1 a.m. in the area between Moseley Avenue and Carpenter Street when a car hit a tree and flipped over on its roof. There was also damage to the home’s front yard and fence.
Jim Leydon, spokesperson for the Hampden County District Attorney’s Office, said that the driver did not survive. There was no one else in the car at the time of the crash.
The identity of the driver has not been released at this time.
State troopers assigned to the Hampden County District Attorney’s Office are still looking into what led to the crash.
