WESTFIELD – Edward J. Zering “Eddie,” 82, of Westfield died Thursday, February 9th, 2023 at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Skaudviles, Lithuania on July 11th, 1940, son of the late Ludvik and Marijona (Jurgilas) Zeringis. Edward graduated Westfield Trade School in 1960 and was employed by Reliance Manufacturing for 29 years. He then became the owner of Z&Z Tool Mfg. with two of his sons, James and David for more than 18 years. Edward was an avid bowler in the community lanes bowling league for many years. He enjoyed fishing, crossword puzzles and thoroughly loved watching Western movies. Many years were spent enjoying vacations with his wife and family in Cape Cod.
Edward is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Fran (Janisieski) Zering, four sons, James Zering (Judy), David Zering (Jackie), Joseph Zering, Daniel Zering (Paula) and family friend Robert Osterman. Edward also leaves his kiddos (grandchildren), Danielle Zering (Mike Aubrey), Jessica Edinger (Jason), Alexandra Zering (Anthony Behr), Tyler Zering, and Jennifer Zering (Troy Chaput).
He was predeceased by his infant brother.
Edward loved his family very much and will be greatly missed. The family wants to thank the healthcare team at Baystate Hospice and Baystate Health for their genuine care.
Calling hours will be held at Firtion Adams Funeral Service on Thursday, February 16th, 2023 from 4-7 PM and the funeral will be held at Holy Trinity Church on Friday, February 17th, 2023 at 10 AM.
