Edwin E. Fredette

WESTFIELD – On December 8th, 2024, Edwin E. Fredette passed peacefully at home. Edwin was born on September 6th, 1949, prematurely to his late parents Leonard Fredette and Phyllis (Barden) Le Page in Holyoke. He grew up in Agawam, MA with his six brothers and two sisters. He later went on to get his GED and enlist into the Marines. He served two years as a 0311 Rifleman from 1968-1970 during the Vietnam War, where he received the National Defense Service Medal. He worked at Riverside Park and later went on to retire as a machinist. Ed was formerly married to the late Lucy (Biscoe) Fredette for 25 years.

Ed was predeceased by his brothers David, Lenny, and Mark Fredette he leaves behind his brothers James, Calvin, and Matt Fredette and sisters Laurie King and Deborah Hilliard.

He was an avid Patriots and Red Sox fan whether they were doing good or not. He was an animal lover, especially of horses and pandas. He enjoyed watching Western movies as well as Lifetime movies and NCIS. He Liked being outside and talking to his neighbors whenever he could. He also enjoyed a good game of cribbage.

Ed leaves behind his three daughters April (Fredette) Williams and her husband Tim of Westfield MA, Julie (Ouellette) Hardenbrook and her husband Randy of Columbus OH, and Nicki Fredette, as well as his son Edwin Fredette of Westfield MA. He also leaves behind his seven grandkids whom he loved greatly, Melanie and her husband Ciaran, Andie, Jakoby, Sophia, Brendan, Ella and Michaela as well as several nieces and nephews.

Ed will be remembered for his kindness and his sarcastic wit.

The service will be a private ceremony held in the presence of family and close friends at the Veterans Cemetery in Agawam MA on December 20th, 2024, at 9:00 a.m.

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association or Donate | American Cancer Society in Ed’s name.
