WESTFIELD – Elaine V. (West) Foucher, 78, of Westfield died Thursday, March 7, 2013 at home. She was born in Westfield on May 2, 1934 to Raymond and Adella (Ferry) West.
Elaine was a graduate of Westfield High School, Holyoke Community College and St. Johnsbury Academy where she majored in Psychology and Sociology. She was employed at the Mass Career Development Institute in Springfield, Grief Brothers Wal Mart and K&M Electronics. Elaine was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Westfield and the Widow and Widowers Club of Springfield. She Enjoyed crocheting and making afghans and bed dolls and was a professional cake decorator.
She was the widow of Homer J. Foucher who died in 1998 and Albert A. Mastello who died in 1981. Elaine leaves four sons, Albert A. Mastello Jr. and his wife Allie of Keller, TX, Larry D. Mastello of West Palm Beach, FL, Ralph A. Mastello of Westfield and Michael F. Mastello of Margate, FL; four daughters, Brenda L. Leja and her companion Steven E. Nanton of Westfield, Cynthia R. Brodeur of Westfield, Myrna E. Osowski of West Springfield and Lucine K. Curtis of Westfield; one brother, James West and his wife Doris of Dewey, AZ; a sister, Grace “Alta” Godere of Southwick; fifteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. She was predeceased by three brothers, Raymond J. West Jr., Ernest L. West, Richard D. West; three sisters, Lillian M. Phillips, Mildred Campbell, and Dorothy Beahn. She also leaves her close friends, Doris DeLevo, Marge Caba, Dorothy Lenk and Misty Slack.
The funeral will be Monday, March 11, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. from Firtion-Adams Funeral service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield, MA, with burial to follow in Pine Hill Cemetery in Westfield. Calling hours will precede the service on Monday from 8:00-10:00a.m. at the funeral home.
