Westfield- Elizabeth L. (Banks) Giles, 79, died Friday December 1, 2017 in Baystate Medical Center due to a fall at home. She was born on July 3, 1938 to Duerian and Hazel Banks. She was a 1956 graduate of Westfield High School. She liked to read books, knit hats for babies at the Holyoke Hospital. In her spare time she enjoyed playing cards with her husband Bill, daughter in-law Christy and grandson Adam. She was a loving mother to 3 boys and 3 grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 59 years William E Giles, a sister Barbara Switzer of Northampton, three sons Edward and Deborah Giles of South Hadley, Charles and Rebecca Giles of Chicopee, David and Christy Giles of Southampton. Three grandchildren Nicole Wade of Virginia, Adam Giles of Southampton and Alison Giles and her fiancé Thomas Duffy of Westfield.
The funeral for Elizabeth will be held on Wednesday Dec. 6th at the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery. A calling hour will precede the service on Wednesday morning at the funeral home from 10-11 am.
