WESTFIELD: Ella Mae (Bush) Barre, 76, (1945-2022) passed away on Friday, April 1, 2022, at the Center for Extended Care in Amherst. She was born in Westfield, a twin, to the late Frank and Josephine (Putala) Bush. She worked as a cafeteria worker for many years for Noble Hospital and finally for the City of Westfield Schools. Ella Mae had a zest for life and was a truly happy person, she loved everyone, and everyone loved her. She enjoyed knitting, going out to dinner with Lynn and Nicole and visiting with friends in the courtyard.
Sadly, Ella Mae was predeceased by her parents, her loving husband Paul I. Barre in 2008, a son, Christopher P. Barre in 2003 and her twin, who passed away two years ago, Frankie Bush.
She is survived by her loving children, Joshua P. Barre of Westfield and Anna Mae Barre of Agawam, her two cousins and caretakers, Lynn Marie Hills of Westfield and Nicole Rose of Westfield, many cousins and her homemaker Valentina.
Her family would like to thank the staff at the Center for Extended Care at Amherst and VNA and Hospice of Cooley Dickinson for the love, care and support given to Ella Mae and her family.
Visiting hours for Ella Mae will be held on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, from 4-7 PM in the Firtion Adams FS, 76 Broad St., Westfield. There will be a funeral home service on Tuesday at 6:30 PM in the funeral home. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ella Mae’s name may be directed to St. Mary’s Church, 30 Bartlett St., Westfield, MA 01085. www.firtionadams.com
