MONTGOMERY – Elwin Ray ”Tommy” Clark, Jr., 65, of Montgomery passed away peacefully Friday, November 1, 2013 at home. Tommy was born in Westfield on July 11, 1948 son of the late Elwin and Claire (Boisseau) Clark and was raised on West Road in Westfield.
He was an honors graduate in the carpentry department of the former Westfield Trade High School in 1967. Tommy moved to Montgomery in 1970, where he served as the town building inspector for more than thirty years. He followed in the family tradition of carpentry craftsmanship after learning and working with his father. Later, he formed his owned construction company, E.R. Clark, Inc. Tommy’s greatest source of pride were his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed trips to the casino with his family, hunting and fishing with friends. He also enjoyed family gatherings and looked forward to attending local agricultural fairs.
Tommy was the widower of Elizabeth (Burkott) Clark in 2004. He is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Denault, her husband Ian and their son, Bryce; his daughter, Deborah Clark and her husband Richard King and their children; Olivia Clark, and William King, his son, Richard and his wife Elizabeth (Collingwood) Clark, and their children; Jayson and Autumn Clark. Tommy also leaves seven sisters, Betty Prystowski, Pattie Gary, Wanda Fafard, Emily Clark, Sherrie Clark, Joanne Gardner-Gihon and Darla Allen, and four brothers; Ray, Ricky, David, and John Clark.
His funeral will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at the Montgomery Community Church, Main Road, Montgomery. Burial will follow at Center Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield.
