Westfield – Emma (Palmas) Rodriguez, 74, of Westfield died Saturday in a local nursing home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Mexico, the daughter of the late Andres and Margarita Palmas. Emma has lived in Westfield for several years and was employed as a housekeeper at the Governors Center. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church, was a member of the Rosary Sodality and a faithful parishioner. She loved spending time with her family and cooking her famous Spanish rice for everyone . Emma is survived by three daughters, Emily Cook and her husband Martin of Westfield, Emma Rodriguez of Orange County, FL., and Lisa Vondeck of Dayville, CT, and many siblings in Mexico. Emma also leaves nine grandchildren, Dominic, Jordyn, Skyler, Jackie, Alisha, Sarah, Nicole, Rebecca, Cassidy, and two great –grandchildren, Noah and Serena. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday from the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad St., Westfield at 10:30 am. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
