Decorate the Library for Winter: Visit the Children’s Room anytime from December 3-8 and customize a penguin to help decorate the library for winter. All materials will be provided so that you can create a one-of-a-kid penguin pal to hang up in the Children’s Room. You can make skis, snowboard, hat, etc. to make it special and unique.

Jon “the Music Man” O’Neil’s STEAM Program Comes to the Library: Children’s entertainer extraordinaire Jon “the Music Man” O’Neil will bring his STEAM program to Southwick Public Library on Tuesday, December 5 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Kids in Kindergarten through grade 3 will learn about the science of vibrations and sound. See and hear an original handmade percussion instrument. Make your own rhythm vibrations. This interactive program has been rescheduled to this December date, and is supported by a grant from Pathways for Parents. 2-5 year olds Have Fun at Southwick Public Library’s Tuesday Storytime: You will love Storytime for 2-5 year olds at Southwick Public Library on Tuesdays December 11 & 18 at 10:30 a.m. in the Children’s Room. Listen to stories about winter. Mix-in a fun make-and-take craft and a song for a good time. Sign up by visiting or calling the library at 413-569-1221 ext. 4, or just stop in the day of the event.

Create Something Amazing at Southwick Public Library’s LEGO Clubs: Southwick Public Library’s LEGO Clubs will meet in the Community Room for building fun in December. Kids in grades 3-6 will meet on Thursday, December 13, from 3:00-4:00 p.m., and kids in K-2 will meet on Wednesday, December 19 from 3:30-4:30. Build what you want using our LEGOs and your imagination, or work on a special challenge each monthly session. Enjoy a snack at the end of the session while we share our creations. We are looking forward to seeing your LEGO creations.

Holiday Saturday Storytime at Southwick Public Library: Children, along with their parents/caregivers are invited to come to the Children’s Room on Saturday, December 8th at 11 a.m. to have fun at our Cookies and Carols Storytime listening to stories and making a craft. Registration is not required for this program.

Southwick Public Library’s Holiday Craft: Celebrate the holidays with a fun craft you make yourself. All materials will be available in the Children’s Room during the week of December 17-22.

Makerspace Monday Workshop at Southwick Public Library for Kids in Grades 3-6: Kids in grades 3-6, join us after school on Monday, December 10 from 3:00-4:00 p.m. for Makerspace Monday. In this month’s special activity, we will set-up crafting stations so you can make a variety of items, from beaded key chains or zipper clips to seasonal cards. Or just drop-in that day to learn something new and fun.

School Vacation Activities at Southwick Public Library: Stop-in during our open hours from December 26-29 and December 31 to try out our Scavenger Hunt! See if you can find all of the “hidden” snowmen. You could win a container of candy! On Thursday December 27, join us for Kids’ Bingo! We will be playing Bingo from 3:00-4:00 p.m. Join in the fun when you stop in.
