The Westfield Athenaeum announces an evening with Captain Michael McCabe as he discusses the Pure Foods murder, Westfield’s most intriguing unsolved crime. Lewis B. Allyn was murdered on May 7, 1940 at his home located at 69 Western Avenue in Westfield, MA. The question still remains … Whodunit? The Nazis, the Russian Imperial Army, the Lover, the Police Chief, a neighbor or someone else entirely? Will this case ever be solved? Captain Michael McCabe believes there is now ample physical evidence to do just that. He will be presenting a historical perspective on his case and hopes to be able to solve it. Join us for this fascinating story on Wednesday, August 28 at 6:30 p.m. in the Lang Auditorium. Seating is limited, please arrive early. www.westath.org or call 413-568-7833 with questions.
