“Breakfast and Photos with Santa Claus” will be held at the Southwick Rec Center, 64 Powder Mill Road, in Southwick on Sunday December 2nd from 8:00 AM until 12 Noon. The buffet breakfast will feature pancakes, scrambled eggs, ham, sausage, orange juice, coffee, tea, and milk. Prizes will be raffled throughout the morning and Santa Claus will be available for photos. The cost for breakfast is $8.00 per adult and $5.00 for children under 12. Proceeds will be used to support the Massachusetts Lions Eye Research Fund and the Southwick Recreation Center.

Past donations received by the Southwick Lions Club have been returned to the community in the form of scholarships, aid due to financial constraints to those in need of glasses or hearing aids, and financing research for sight, hearing, and diabetes. Funding has also been provided to the local food pantry, schools, police department, fire department, our veterans, and other community resources.

The Southwick Lions Club has 54 members and meets on the 1st Thursday of each month at Tucker’s Restaurant at 7:00 PM. Lions clubs are a group of men and women who identify needs within the community and work together to fulfill those needs. Helen Keller challenged the Lions Club to be the knights of the blind and deaf. Best known for their efforts to eradicate preventable blindness Lions Clubs assist those in need, provide clean drinking water, and assist in diabetes research. New members are welcome.
