A Universe of Stories Suntime Reading Program. Be a part of the “Universe of Stories” when you join this year’s Summer Reading Program at Southwick Public Library. Join us on Opening Day for a FanFest on Saturday, June 22 from 10-1. Dress up as your favorite superhero, game character, princess or book character. Meet some cool characters while you are here and take a selfie with them. Enjoy the amazing comedy magic of Ed Popielarczyk’s Magical Moments Show at 11:00. Enjoy popcorn and cotton candy, too! Registration begins June 17 for this annual reading event with prizes and special programs for all ages throughout the summer.

 

Children ages 2 through grade 6 (in fall of 2019) can enter to win prizes in our 6 weekly drawings, including a ticket to the Big E, sports equipment, books, and more! Earn bonus chances by completing special activities. Each visit for the first 8 visits, kids can receive a coupon for a free treat from a local business! Try our new online registration format called Beanstack.

Tuesday Storytime. Southwick Public Library’s Tuesday Storytime for children ages 2-5 years old will meet in the Children’s Room on June 11 at 10:30 a.m. Listen to stories. Make some music. Meet a friend. Create a craft! Hear about our upcoming “A Universe of Stories” Summer Reading Program! Children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver. Please register in the Children’s Room or call413-569-1221×4 to join the fun.

 

Grades K-2 LEGO kids will meet on Wednesday, June 12 at 3:30 p.m. We are looking forward to seeing your cool creations! Register in the Children’s Room to join the fun. (Parents please note: the Library closes at 5 p.m. on Thursdays and LEGO Club members must be picked up before closing.)

 

Makerspace Science Lab. If you haven’t tried Makerspace at Southwick Public Library you are in for a treat. Each month we explore a scientific activity. We have made crystals, slime, bridges and more. This month we will meet on Monday, June 10 at 3:00 p.m. to challenge you to make a LEGO volcano. You may also try our marble maze and LittleBits. Sign up in the Children’s Room or call us at 413-569-1221 x4.

 

Father’s Day Craft at Southwick Public Library. Children of all ages are invited to come to the Children’s Room on Thursday June 13 through Saturday, June 15 to make a Father’s Day craft. Materials will be available during regular library hours.

 

Dads and Donuts Storytime at Southwick Public Library. Children, accompanied by their parents/caregivers, are invited to come to the Children’s Room on Saturday morning, June 15, at 11 a.m. for Dads and Donuts Storytime. Celebrate Father’s Day with great stories, an easy craft and delicious donuts! There is no registration for this program.
