Bedtime Storytime on Children’s Book Week: Children, accompanied by their parents/caregivers, are invited to come to the Children’s Room on Wednesday evening, May 1st at 6:30 p.m. for Bedtime Storytime to celebrate Children’s Book Week. We will read about animals on the move and do an easy craft. There is no registration for this program.

May Story Yoga for Kids Ages 2-5: Join us at Southwick Public Library for a special time on Tuesday, May 7 at 10:30-11:30 a.m. for Story Yoga. Listen to a story. Learn some yoga poses. Do a special yoga-related activity and make a craft. This hour-long program for 2-5 year olds helps children to manage their bodies, focus, relax and have fun. Children must be accompanied by a parent or caregiver. Please pre-register for this program. Advance registration is helpful but not necessary. This program is presented by Southwick Public Library and “Pathways for Parents.”

Mother’s Day Craft: Children of all ages are invited to come to the Children’s Room on Thursday, May 9th through Saturday, May 11th to make a Mother’s Day craft. Materials will be available during regular library hours.

LEGO Clubs in May: Southwick Public Library’s LEGO Club for grades 3-6 will meet on Thursday, May 9 from 3-4: p.m. Kids in kindergarten through grade 2 will have fun building their LEGO creations on Wednesday, May 15 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. using our LEGOs. You may choose to work alone or with a friend. We are looking forward to seeing your LEGO creations. Makerspace Monday: What is Makerspace Monday? It is a time for kids in grades 3-6 to make something fun. In past weeks we have made bath fizzies, tie-dye shirts and crystals. On Monday, May 13 from 3-4 p.m., we will design a bridge and test it out for strength. You can also try our 3D pen and littleBits connectors. Please register in the Children’s Room for this special event.

2-5 year olds Have Fun at Tuesday Storytime: Southwick Public Library Storytime for 2-5 year olds is on May 14, 21 & 28 at 10:30 a.m. in the Children’s Room. Learn about planting, being a good sport & more. Make a simple craft and sing a new song. Visit or call the library at 413-569-1221 ext. 4 to join in the fun, or just stop in the day of the event.

Get Ready for the Universe of Stories Suntime Reading Program: Once upon a time, at a library near you, (Southwick Public Library) a plan was being made for the most spectacular Summer Reading Program EVER! So mark your calendars for Saturday, June 22 from 10 a.m.-1:00 p.m. for opening day of A Universe of Stories 2019 Summer Reading Program Kick-Off Extravaganza.
