SUMMARY:Celebrate Earth Day with the Westfield River Cleanup Volunteer Program

According to Mark Damon\, coordinator for the Westfield River Watershed Association (WRWA)\, people can just show up at one of the gathering sites to participate in the morning’s cleanup. \n  \nWRWA encourages people to come and join them for the morning on Saturday\, April 27. SUMMARY:HOW WESTFIELD BECAME KNOWN AS THE “BASEBALL TOWN”
DESCRIPTION:Presented by Dan Genovese\, Wednesday\, April 24\, 2019\, First Congregational Church. Free and open to the public. Baseball is America’s Game and Westfield is known as a baseball town\, a “badge of honor” that is earned\, so how did it start? The game was not invented by Abner Doubleday\, instead it evolved and 19th century Westfield helped to shape the game we love.
