SPRINGFIELD – Don’t count out the Westfield Bombers just yet.
The Westfield High School boys’ basketball team kept from falling two games below .500 with a huge bounceback victory Friday night at Sci-Tech, 57-41.
Devin Wells (17 points), Justin Crosby (11), and Joe Meade paved the way for Westfield (7-7). Meade had his best all-around game of the year, finishing with eight points, 15 rebounds, three blocks, and six assists.
“We played real well for the most part,” Westfield coach Bill Daley said. “We shared the ball, we didn’t turn it over – things that we haven’t been doing well lately.”
Westfield will try to extend its solid play today when it plays Malden Catholic at Westfield State University at 3:30 p.m. The Bombers will host East Longmeadow on Westfield Youth Basketball night Monday at 7 p.m.
