Fernand Amedée Aubé

WESTFIELD – Fernand “Fern” Amedée Aubé of Westfield, MA passed away at home on August 30th, 2024. Fern was born on July 11th, 1943 in St. Charles, Quebéc, Canada to the late Irenée and Irma Aubé. The family later moved to Springfield, MA where he would later graduate from Springfield Trade School in 1963. He became a member of IBEW Local 7 and dedicated 42 years as a master electrician and foreman working on jobs throughout the area. Fern retired in 2005 and spent his retirement building a lifetime of memories with his family and especially the grandchildren he adored. Fern was a faithful communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Westfield.

Fern enjoyed cruising the backroads in his prized Corvette with Solange and often taking his grandkids for a ride. He enjoyed staying in shape by frequenting the gym, bike rides and long walks with his brother, Claude. Fern could fix almost anything and would be the first that many friends and neighbors would call upon for help with various projects. He enjoyed being able to offer help in any way he could. He will be remembered for always having a smile on his face, warmly welcoming everyone to his home and offering them a beer.

Fern was a devoted husband to the love of his life of 57 years, Solange (Dion). They enjoyed traveling to Aruba, Marco Island, Florida and Ogunquit, Maine. He enjoyed walking on the beach for miles soaking in the ocean breeze and sun. When in Maine, you would find him searching for his favorite foods like clam strips or fish and chips, then picking up some hard candies and salt water taffy. He also enjoyed trips to Quebéc visiting with extended family.

Fern also leaves behind his adoring daughters, Sonia Aubé (Jeffrey) of Westfield, Karen Mastroianni (Christopher) of Westfield, Cynthia Metcalf and her husband David of Gilbert, AZ along with his cherished grandchildren, Shayden Conlin (Nick), Jett Conlin, Ella and Evan Mastroianni and Ryan and Emma Metcalf.
