SOUTHWICK – The Southwick Fireman’s Association is set to host the 4th Annual Fireman’s Association Golf Tournament on May 15 at Edgewood Golf Course.
Registration goes from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., and breakfast will be served during that time, courtesy of the Fox Den Restaurant.
The shotgun start for the tournament is 10:30 a.m. Teams can have up to four players and the cost is $95 per player or $380 per team. You can go to the Fire Department’s Facebook Page to fill out the sign-up form.
If anyone is interested in still signing up or creating a team, contact the Southwick Fire Department at 413-569-6363.
According to Brian Schneider, who is a Southwick firefighter and a member of the fireman’s association, this tournament has sold out each of the last three years this event has existed.
“It’s been outstanding,” said Schneider. “That’s obviously going to be our goal again.”
With the goal of trying to raise as much money as possible so the fireman’s association can bring that money back to local charities and events, there are three levels of donations that people can choose from. The Bronze level is a donation of $100, silver is at $200, and gold is at $500.
There will also be various contests throughout the tournament, including closest to the pin, longest drive, hole-in-one, Swindler’s Hole, and a $1,000 Lawry gas card.
Saunders Boat Livery Inc. is sponsoring the event by offering a pontoon boat if someone has a hole-in-one on one of the particular holes. A car will also be up for grabs if anyone is lucky to have a hole-in-one, which will be sponsored by Bob Pion Buick GMC.
Every participant in the tournament will also receive a t-shirt that was designed by R2 Graphics.
After the play on the course finishes up, the fun doesn’t stop there. The Cove Restaurant and Banquet Facility will host a cocktail hour from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., and then serve a buffet dinner from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The raffle prizes and other additional raffles will also be announced at the Cove.
