DELTONA FL: Franco Garcia, loving husband, father, grandfather and great gr
andfather, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 16, 2015 at his home. Franco was born on December 28,1925 in Hatillo, Puerto Rico. He moved with his family to Westfield, Massachusetts in 1954, and worked at HB Smith Company in Westfield for 37 years. Franco enjoyed watching sports, especially baseball, and enjoyed watching his sons play many sports throughout their childhoods. He loved gardening and took great pride in his harvest each summer. Throughout his life, he and his wife would gather with family and friends for domino games and dinners, where many lasting memories were made. He moved to Deltona, Florida with his wife Ana in 1989, where he lived close to other family members. He quickly made many friends through his church, Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Deltona, Florida.
Franco leaves behind his wife, Ana Garcia, his son Franco and his wife Karen, his son Jose and his wife Kit, his son Carlos and his wife Janet, his grandchildren Jonathan, Becky, Nina, Tony and Tucker, and his great grandchildren Aria, Rowan and Emilia. He was predeceased by his brother, Gonzalo. He is also survived by six sisters and three brothers.
Visiting hours for Franco will be held on Thursday. August 20 from 5-8 pm at Deltona Memorial Funeral Home in Orange City, Florida. The funeral service will be held on Friday, August 21 at 10 am at Our Lady of the Lake Church in Deltona, Florida. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Halifax Health Hospice Care Center, 1625 Veterans Memorial Parkway, Orange City, FL 32763 with gratitude for its gentle and loving care.
