Frank M. Parzych, Sr.

AGAWAM – Frank M. Parzych, Sr., 94, (1923 – 2018) passed away on April 24, 2018 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Born on November 28, 1923 in North Brookfield, MA to the late Walter and Stacia (Galka) Parzych, he was a graduate of Technical High School in Springfield. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II from 1944 – 1946, serving in the infantry division in Western Europe.  Frank was honored last year by traveling on the Honor Flight with his granddaughter, Laurie to Washington D.C. Before retiring in 1986, he had been employed at B & E Tool Co. as a Senior Shop Foreman for 29 years. Frank was a devoted communicant of Holy Mother of the Rosary Church and was also a member of the Polish American Club in Feeding Hills, the Agawam Revolver Club and the National Rifle Association.  He will be fondly remembered for his love of living independently and his passion for maintaining his home, backyard and orchard.  Besides his parents, he is predeceased by his loving wife of 45 years Feliksa “Elsie” (Goral) Parzych who passed away on July 27, 1988, his brothers Henry, Leo and John Parzych and his sister Lillian Rudowski. To cherish his memory, he leaves his son Frank M. Parzych, Jr. of Dracut, MA; daughters Carol A. Ramsey and her partner Jay Meyer of Palmer, Linda C. Charest and her husband Lawrence of Feeding Hills, Christine M. Meyer and her husband G. Robert of Wilbraham and Jeannie F. Parzych and her partner Jeffrey Nassif of West Springfield.  In addition, “Dziadziu” as he was affectionately called, leaves his grandchildren Lisa Ramsey, Laurie Tyburski and Eric Charest and great grandchildren Emily and Elizabeth Tyburski and Lily and Avery Charest as well as his beloved church family. Family and friends are invited to gather on Sunday, April 29, 2018 from 2 – 4 PM at Colonial Forastiere Funeral Home, 985 Main Street, Agawam. Funeral services will be on Monday, April 30, 2018 beginning at 9:30 AM at the funeral home followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 AM at Holy Mother of the Rosary Church, 26 Bell Street, Chicopee. Burial with military honors will be in St. Joseph’s Polish National Cemetery (Oak Grove Cemetery, Cottage St. Annex) Cottage Street, Springfield.
