WESTFIELD – A ribbon-cutting event will take place at Genesis Health Care Center on East Silver Street on Tuesday at 2:15 p.m.
The ribbon-cutting is for a new patio that was installed for the residents of Genesis.
As this will be the first patio at Genesis that residents will be able to use for their own leisure, the unveiling is creating excitement.
“Everyone is looking forward to it,” Terrie Choquette, the Executive Director of Genesis Health Care Center.
According to Genesis Recreational Director Kathy Fila, Westfield Mayor Brian Sullivan has been invited to the ribbon cutting.
A nursing home and rehabilitation center, Genesis takes care of both short-term and long-term residents. The Genesis of Westfield is one of 450 different Genesis centers across 30 states in the United States.
