WESTFIELD – George J. Carmel, 90, passed away at home December 4th at his home in Westfield MA. George was born in Agawam MA November 20th, 1933 to George N. Carmel, Sr. and Ages Carmel. He graduated Westfield High School and worked at Kaman Air Craft, CT as a foreman for 30 years and also worked at Westfield Coatings as a foreman for 30 years. He was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Church for many years. George was a hard worker, working two jobs, building his own house and raising a family. He loved his dogs, playing accordion, and being outdoors. He owned a plant nursery and would ride his ATV on his property he loved to work on. He would also walk in the woods daily with his wife and beloved St. Bernard “Rosie”. George would spend most weekend nights following his favorite music bands and dancing the night away with his wife.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Pauline Carmel, and their four children; Donna Carmel and her husband Robert Post, Michael Carmel (who rarely left his side), George E. Carmel, Jr., and Anita Carmel and her husband John Blanchard.
He was preceded in death by his brother Edward Carmel and sister Marlene Stober and leaves five brothers and sisters: James Carmel, Margaret Pitoniak, Bernadette Case, Mary Pitoniak and Rose DiClementi.

Visiting Hours will be held Thursday, December 7th from 5-7 p.m. at Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield, MA. Funeral will be held Friday, December 8th at 9 a.m. at Firtion-Adams Funeral Home followed by a Mass at 10 a.m., Holy Trinity Church, 335 Elm Street, Westfield, MA 01085.
