WESTFIELD – Grace A. Burrell, 94, of Westfield, died Friday, February 22, 2013 at Heritage Hall East C Wing in Agawam, MA. Grace was the daughter of Dolar & Mary Bushey of Springfield.Grace was predeceased by her husband of 63 years Fred Burrell; her son, “Butch” Burrell; her brother, Roland Bushey and her sister, Arlene Coughlin.
Grace’s passion was knitting and crocheting and she taught thousands to knit at vocational schools for years. She was the owner of a yarn shop in West Springfield and later owned Westfield Yarn and Fabric Shoppe in the Westfield Shops. She loved her summers at their place, when her children were young, at Congamond Lakes in Southwick and then later when her grand kids were young, at Big Pond in Otis. The entire family had a love of the lakes and all the friends who enjoyed these places as well.
She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Sally Angers of Westfield; three grandchildren, Jeff Simpson and his sons Jared and Alex of Woburn, MA, Scott Simpson of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and Jake and Jennifer Simpson and their children, Sarah, Nicholas & Taylor of Ashland, MA.
Her funeral will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at the Firtion-Adams Funeral Home, 76 Broad Street, Westfield. Calling hours will precede the funeral from 2:00-4:00 p.m. A brief service will follow. The burial will be private in the spring.
