Business CEO’s talk about how to communicate with their employees. After all, employees that are Growth Mindset oriented process the knowledge are likely to be more motivated and productive. We should not compare humans with robotics, but the knowledge of programing language is essential as this is how robots obeys the commands. Growth is impossible without communication and managers with a growth mindset are great communicators. Like a computer or robotic equipment, if you don’t communicate correctly, how is it to process correctly. “Growth mindset drives the effectiveness and execution of tools, strategies and methodologies.” Wrote P. Weston Meta-LUCID
Carol S. Dweck, author of Mindset the New Psychology of Success writes: “There are two mindsets that have a MAJOR impact on our ability to learn, grow, and achieve our goals.
GROWTH MINDSET: you believe that your skills and intelligence are things that can be developed and improved. That you DO have the capacity to learn and grow. Skills are built.
FIXED MINDSET: you believe that your skills and intelligence are set – that you have what you have. That you DON’T have the capacity to learn and grow. Skills are born.”
From time to time, to become successful as a CEO or manager there is need to give up on some control. There are certain things that are universal, which will make you successful if you give up on them, even though each one of us could have a different definition of success. “People with a fixed mindset think their intelligence or talents are simply fixed traits, and that talent alone leads to success?—?without hard work. They’re wrong. Successful people know this. They invest an immense amount of time on a daily basis to develop a growth mindset, acquire new knowledge, learn new skills and change their perception so that it can benefit their lives. Remember, who you are today, it’s not who you have to be tomorrow.” Wrote Zdravko Cvijetic, Medium. For modern businesses employee engagement is key.
High engagement leads to reduced turnover, higher productivity, and increased profitability. However, the latest research from Gallup shows that less than 30% of employees are engaged at work. “Management is one of the top reasons cited for lack of engagement in the workplace, representing 70% of the variance between high and low engagement.” Comment by John Reed, writing for CIO.
John Estafanous CEO RallyBright wrote “In my experience leading and working with teams?—?whether they’re startups, groups of engineers, or global leadership?—?there are a few things that have really stood out to drive success. First, leaders and team members have to be willing to “stand up” to lead or drive initiatives and to “show up” consistently as doers who take action to drive progress. Second, they have to be willing to do more work. This doesn’t mean more hours per se, but it does mean they have to work outside of their comfort zones. Finally, they have to be enthusiastically willing to learn and develop new skills and coaches build better teams.”
It’s the CEO, influencing managers who will play a key role in establishing clear lines of communication within the organization. Manager’s functions include planning, organization, staffing, leading and overseeing functions inside the company, such in communications with staff. All of these functions require communication or work will not get done. By going further to communicate more effectively with employees, you can break free from a fixed mindset, productive and satisfying work environment will advance. A growth mindset business will see this as an opportunity to change, improve and drive a competitive advantage. Those employees tend to be more empowered, engaged and committed. Therefore, these companies are more collaboration oriented and innovative than those made up of fixed mindset employees.
