WEST SPRINGFIELD – Gustave F. Bohn, 86, died Sunday, September 29, 2013 at the Renaissance Manor of Westfield, with his loving family by his side. He was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Marie R. (Nixon) Bohn, on September 2, 2013.
Gus joined the Navy and served during World War II. He was a truck driver for Interstate Motor Freight and UPS and retired in 1990. Gus was a 40 year member of the Teamsters Local 404 and 671. He loved to fish, watch the Red Sox and spend time with his family.
He was predeceased by his brother, Joseph A. Bohn; his sisters, Dorothy Blanchard and Phyllis Weber. Gus is survived by his three children, Cindy Gonzalez of Springfield, Frederick Bohn and his wife Lucille of Southwick and Carrie Solek and her husband Rick of Southwick; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and his sisters, Betty Vogel and her husband John of Southampton and Evelyn Nicoll of Ludlow. The family would like to thank Renaissance Manor of Westfield for their excellent care and compassion.
At Gus’s request there will be no services and the Toomey-O’Brien Funeral Home is in charge.
