When I first heard news of the pile-up on the raceway at the Daytona 500 last Sunday, my initial thoughts raced back to that tragic day 18 years ago when Dale Earnhardt, Jr., died.
Thankfully, no one was seriously injured in this latest 21-car crash, but the turn-of-events derailed my driver, Martin Truex, Jr.’s chances of winning. Other entrants in our Ultimate Sports Challenge also lost their selections.
Two participants were right on the nose, picking Denny Hamlin as the winner. Gerry Robillard, Sr., of Southwick won the random drawing. Congratulations Gerry!
Be on the lookout for our next leg of our contest – March Madness.
