Charlottesville, VA: Hantley George Bruscoe, 92, passed from this life into the next on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at the University of Virginia Medical Center. He was born January 9, 1923, in Hatfield, Massachusettts. He is preceded in death by his wife, Doris Bruscoe, and daughter, Sharon Gingras.

He is survived by his daughter, Donna Lambert and her husband, Larry; son-in-law, Lenny Gingras and his wife, Kay; grandchildren, Drew Hauser and his fiancée, Rebecca, Dave Gingras and his wife, Pamela, and Tammy Gingras-Moore and her husband, Mike; and two great grandsons, Will Gingras and Riley Moore. He also leaves behind a sister, Millie Tybur.

Like his name, he was one of a kind. Throughout his life he was a farmer, land developer and real estate broker, a contractor and an antiques dealer….basically he was successful in everything he set out to do. But to those who knew him he was so much more.  He was the King of silly jokes and puns, and he loved to make people laugh. He loved sports and was a true Hoo from the day he moved to Virginia in 1977 until the end. He loved hosting parties and being surrounded by family and friends at his former home in Earlysville. However, his greatest love was his family. Whether we called him Hantley, Dad, Pop, Pop Pop, or Two-Pop, we will miss him.

His family would like to thank the staff at the Colonnades for taking care of him for the last nine years and the Doctors and Staff at the University of Virginia for taking care of him in his final days.

A Memorial Service was held at 4 p.m. Friday, July 17, 2015 in the Monroe Room at the Colonnades on Barracks Road in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Condolences may be sent to the family at www.hillandwood.com.
