WESTFIELD: Helen Eugenia (Cennamo) Nagorka, 96, died peacefully on July 22, 2021. She was born on East Mountain Road in Westfield, MA on May 10, 1925 to the late Rosina (DeLuca) and Luciano Cennamo. She attended local public schools and was a lifelong resident of Westfield. She was married on April 26, 1947 to her beloved husband, Frank. She worked for the Westfield Public Schools in the school lunch program. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church and had been a member of The Rosary Sodality. Helen and her husband Frank enjoyed polka dancing on Saturday nights. She will always be remembered for her smile. She loved to cook and bake, particularly her traditional Italian family recipes.
She leaves a daughter, Sandra (Nagorka) Matyseck of Westfield and a son, Frank Nagorka, Jr. of Lynn, MA. She also leaves two grandchildren, Tracy (Matyseck) Piper and her husband Jeffrey and Thomas Matyseck and his wife Michele, and her four cherished great-grandchildren, Dominic Matyseck, Dustin Piper, Franco Matyseck and Tyler Piper all of Westfield, and many nieces and nephews.
She was pre-deceased by her husband Frank of 39 years, five brothers, Louis, Gerald, Michael, Nunzio and John Cennamo and three sisters, Lucy Riga, Mary Callini and Lena Masciadrelli and her son-in-law, David Matyseck.
The funeral will be held on Thursday, July 29th at 10:30 AM at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church followed by burial in Saint Mary’s Cemetery. Donations may be made to Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church at 127 Holyoke Road, Westfield, MA, 01085.
