WESTFIELD – Helen F. (Albert ) Zawada, 94, of Westfield died Saturday, October 19, 2013 at home surrounded by her loving family. Helen was born in Enfield, CT, daughter of the late Victor and Helen (Gonet) Albert. She was a 1937 graduate of Enfield High School, and has lived in Westfield since 1946.She was employed at the former Antoinette’s Clothing Store for twenty-five years, retiring in 1981. Helen was a communicant of Holy Trinity Church.
She was predeceased by her loving husband of sixty-eight years, Walter in 2010. She is survived by her daughter, Dianne Magdycz and her husband John, with whom she lived. Helen also leaves five grandchildren; Michael and his wife Dawn, David, Kevin, Allen and Donna, one great-grandson, Michael Jr, two step-grandchildren, Nathaniel and Aleris Crum, and a grand-niece and nephew, Brendan and Catherine Morrissey. Helen was predeceased by her siblings, Stanley, Frank, and Toefil Albert, Adele Cabay, Clara Smola, and Dorothy Arabek.
Her funeral will be held on Thursday, October 24th at the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield at 9:00 a.m. followed at 10:00 a.m. by a Liturgy of Christian Burial in Holy Trinity Church. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home Wednesday from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m.
