WESTFIELD – Helen I. (Philbrook) Mateychuk, 71, of Westfield, died of breast cancer on Monday, August 26, 2013 at home. She was born in Chester on December 31, 1941 to Ralph and Ann (Liese) Philbrook.
Helen worked for the Avis Group for many years. She was an avid gardener, made porcelain dolls and ornaments at Donna’s Children, loved her dogs Keoki and Bandit, and always helped people in need.
She leaves her children, Kimberly Miller of South Attleboro, Vicki Sliwa of Rome, Italy and Leonard Schott of Westfield and her grandchildren Michelle, Christopher, Ashley and Victoria Miller.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 31 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at her home at 115 Putnam Drive in Westfield. She will be buried in a private ceremony in Newell Burial Grounds in Attleboro with her grandson Andrew Miller who died in 2006.
