WESTFIELD: Helen M. (Ceckowski) Neary, 88, beloved wife of Kenneth J. Neary, Sr., who predeceased her on September 30, 2015, passed away peacefully Saturday, November 28, 2015 in Holyoke, MA. She was born in Westfield, MA on August 13, 1927, the daughter of the late Anthony and Mary (Gorski) Ceckowski. Helen had two brothers, Francis Ceckowski and Reverend Robert Ceckowski, both of whom predeceased her. She attended Holy Trinity School and graduated from Westfield High School. Helen met Kenneth Sr. while both were attending Westfield State College. They married in 1947. Helen’s primary focus was being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She worked as a homemaker throughout her life and worked outside the home from time to time. Her religious faith was a source of strength and comfort for her. Helen was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Church in Westfield, MA for more than 60 years. Helen is survived by a daughter, Kathleen (Neary) Machowski and her husband Kasmir of Chicopee, MA, a son, Kenneth J. Neary, Jr. and his wife Cynthia of Westfield,MA and three grandchildren,Brian Neary and his wife, Kendra and their son, Evan of Charlotte, NC, Elizabeth Neary and Jillian Neary, both of New York, New York. A private funeral was held at Holy Trinity Church. A private burial was held at St. Mary’s Cemetery, both in Westfield.
