WESTFIELD – The new “Cooperative Basketball” program held in the state-of-the art gym at the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Westfield facility will end this weekend.
This season, the YMCA collaborated with the Club to form a clinic-based basketball program for 40 youth members ages 5-8. George Hart of the YMCA, and Tom Bozek, the Club’s athletic coordinator, led the program.
The first two weeks of the 8-week program were made up of clinics. The first week of clinics were run by Hart and Bozek. The second week was led by the Westfield High School basketball team. The following six weeks of the program included regular practices where youth worked on new skills and drills and played in games.
