WESTFIELD – Ida “Jean” (Olsen) bowers, 85, passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2013, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s.
She is survived by her loving husband of sixty four years, Carl; a son, Craig and his wife Lisa and their children Katlin and Erik all of Westfield. She was predeceased by a son Gary.
Jean was a proud graduate of Westfield State College and enjoyed her time at home raising her family, always baking something sweet and spending time on various crafts. She and her husband enjoyed traveling and accomplished a visit to all 48 contiguous states in their camper and taking time to spend their winters in Florida. Jean will be greatly missed by her family, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
The family of Jean would like to send appreciation to the staff of the Governor’s Center of Westfield for their care and kindness during Jeans stay, “many of you became extended family and we will forever be thankful for all you have done for our mom”.
Services will be at the convenience of the family. The Legacy Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
