WESTFIELD: Irene M. (Smith) Spagnoli age 78, a resident of the Arbors of Westfield, MA died peacefully on March 23, 2016. She was born on June 1, 1937 in Springfield to the late Alberic O. and Bernadette J. (Verville) Smith. She grew up in Springfield and graduated from Cathedral High School and retired from the W. Springfield School Deparment. Her favorite hobbies were playing bingo, scrabble, and trivia. She also enjoyed singing and dancing. Her kind heart, laughter, and beautiful smile will always be remembered. She was pre-deceased by her loving husband Joseph M. Spagnoli, Sr. in 1996. She leaves her devoted children Joseph M. Spagnoli, Jr. and his wife Janice of Westfield, Gina M. Ricciardi and her husband Gary F. of Wilbraham, her loving grandchildren Anthony J. Spagnoli, Jr., and his wife Jessica of Duxbury, Nicole M. Iacovelli and her husband CJ of Orlando, FL, Ashley T. Ricciardi and her fiancé Carlo Camerota of Springfield, and Laura M. Sarno and her husband Anthony of E. Longmeadow, her precious great grandchildren Cameron A. Spagnoli and AJ Sarno, whom she adored. She leaves her sisters Jeanine A. Beaudette, Lillian S. Peloquin, her sister-in-law Rita M. Smith, Celia and Gertrude Spagnoli, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She will missed terribly by her family and many friends at the Westfield Arbors. She was predeceased by her brother Leo R. and Arthur J. Smith and her sister, Theresa L. Brodeur. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 26 at 11:00 a.m. at the Firtion-Adams funeral home, 76 Broad Street, Westfield, MA. Calling hours will precede the service on Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. There will be a burial on Monday, March 28 in St. Thomas Cemetery in W. Springfield. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Westfield Arbors, c/o Activity Fund, 40 Court Street, Westfield, MA 01085.
