SOUTHWICK – Janice C. (Wolfe) Mihlek, longtime Southwick resident formerly of 45 Hillside Road, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2013 at Brightview Assisted Living in Billerica, MA, where she had lived for the past 7 years. Born in Westfield, MA, she attended school in Southwick, and was the daughter of the late Herman J. & Stella L. (Grymkowski) Wolfe.
Janice worked in the Southwick Public Schools food services for 20 years. She was a founding member of the Christ Lutheran Church, Southwick and was active in the Ladies Aide for many years. She enjoyed arts and crafts, crocheting and gardening. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be remembered for her generous and caring heart. Her kind and loving nature will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Janice is survived by her children, Deborah L. Seed and her husband David Seed of North Reading, MA and Diane C. Fiore and her husband Dennis Fiore of Tewksbury, MA. A brother, John C. Wolfe of Vancouver, WA; a sister, Sandra L. Reynolds of Summerfield, FL; 5 grandchildren Nathan and Amanda Seed and Nicholas, Mathew and Caitlyn Fiore and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, John Mihlek in 2002.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 1, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, 568 College Highway, Southwick, MA. Burial will follow in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Westfield, MA. Family and friends may gather at the Southwick-Forastiere Funeral Home, 624 College Highway, Southwick on Thursday, February 28th from 4:00-7:00 p.m.
