WESTFIELD: Jean W. (Williams) Midgley, 89, of Westfield died Friday, July 17, 2015 at home. She was born in Chatham, NY on April 7, 1926 daughter of the late Herbert and Hazel (Loomis) Williams. Jean was a graduate of Westfield High School. She was employed as a secretary for HB Smith Company for many years, retiring in 1989. Prior to that, she was a secretary for the former Gladwin and Lane Company of Westfield. Jean was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Westfield and a member of its Wesley Group. She was the widow of Frank A. Gibe Jr. who died in 1956 and was predeceased by her former husband Albert V. Midgley who died in 2014. Jean leaves two daughters, Carolyn J. Knisely of Hilton Head Island, SC and Cathy G. Langlois and her husband Christopher of Westfield. She also leaves three grandchildren, Christie Langlois, John Langlois and his fiancée Jessica Scahill and Timothy Langlois all of Westfield and sister in law Jean Williams of Yarmouth, Maine. She was predeceased by her brother Peter Williams. Calling hours will be Wednesday, July 22, 2015 from 6-8 PM from Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad St. Westfield with the service to follow at 8 PM. A graveside Service will be held on Thursday at 9 AM in Pine Hill Cemetery in Westfield.
