Jeanne M. Aldrich

Jeanne Aldrich Photo 1WESTFIELD – Jeanne M. (O’Connell) “Bam” Aldrich died peacefully on Wednesday April 23, 2014 with her loving family by her side. Born in Newport, Mon. South Wales, U.K. to the late William and Mary Ellen O’Connell in 1931.
She graduated form St. Michael’s school in England. Having met her beloved husband, Harold, during the war she maintained a friendship with him and his family through the mail. She came to the USA for a visit in 1949 and they were married in May 1949. She’s very proud to have become an American Citizen. She loved her home and family and was an excellent homemaker and decorator. All were welcome for a cup of tea and cookies visiting and shopping were her favorite pass times as well as spending time with her family. She was always happiest when surrounded by family and friends.
She leaves her beloved children, son and daughter-in-law Brian and Mary Ann Aldrich of Granby MA, daughter and son-in-law Darlene and Ronald Brewster of Montgomery MA; her cherished grandchildren Jason Aldrich, Dianna (Bryan) Jarvis, Heather (Guy) Lyons and Doreen (David) Mollison; her adored great-grandchildren Abigail Jarvis, Cody and Connor Lyons and Dustin Mollison, She also leaves many nieces and nephews, friends and cousins in England, Wales and Australia. She also leaves two sisters-in-law, Ruth Cwirka and Pamela O’Connell. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Harold in 1981, her adored grandson, Brett Melius in 2014; her only brother, Brian O’Connell passed away in England several years ago. Thank you to the wonderful and caring staff of Heritage Hall West D-Wing for your excellent and compassionate care during her final weeks. Thank You to the Arbors of Westfield for making these last few years so enjoyable for her.
Visiting hours will be Monday, April 28th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Robert E. Cusack Funeral Home, 94 Main Street (Route 20) Westfield. Graveside service will take place Tuesday, April 29th at 11:30 a.m. in Norwich Bridge Cemetery in Huntington, MA.
