WESTFIELD – Jerry Santaniello, 49, died suddenly Sunday, August 4, 2013. He was the beloved husband of Laura (Turetzky) and his beautiful daughter, Aimary Joy, the light of his life. He was born in Springfield on June 19, 1964.He was a 1982 graduate of Classical High School. He studied abroad in Italy. After overcoming Hodgkin’s, Jerry attended STCC and Rutgers Medical School in NJ and received his B.S. Degree in Medical Science to become a Physician’s Assistant. He worked in the ER in Newburg, NY where he met his future wife and love of his life. He later joined New England Orthopedics in Springfield. Jerry has been a PA-C at St. Francis Medical Center in CT for the past 17 years. One of Jerry’s joys was his Staffordshire Terriers which he raised and showed champion dogs. He was a member of the Agawam Sportsman’s Club, enjoyed golfing & was an avid Red Sox fan.
He leaves his parents, Mario & Armandina (Giordano) Santaniello of Springfield; sisters, Gina Hanna & her husband Larry of Somers, CT, Joanna Santaniello of Springfield; father & mother-in-law, Leonard & Suzanne Turetzky of Poughkeepsie, NY; his brother & sister-in-law, David & Tiffany Turetzky; his nieces & nephews, Michael, Nicole & Meaghan Hanna, Anabella Matos, Zachary & Zoe Turetzky. He also leaves many beloved cousins, aunts, uncles & friends.
Funeral will be held on Thursday, August 8th at 1:00 p.m. from the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Westfield. Calling hours will be held prior to the service at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
